Angelina Jolie's Artistic Tattoos

One of Angelina's artistic tattoos is undoubtedly the Bengal tiger tattoo. This tattoo was created by the same artist which tattooed her shoulder blade and skillfully covers a previous tribal dragon and window tattoo.

Angelina is far from being superstitious and, as always, was ready to put her beliefs in ink. She tattooed the Roman number 13 and then added V MCMXL to it. This tattoo is a tribute for Winston Churchill's famous speech from 13 May 1940: "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat".

''Know your rights'' is not only one of the core principles Angelina acted upon in her humanitarian projects but also the name of a song from her favorite band, The Clash. The location of this tattoo can be considered a true indicative when it comes to the tattoo's importance.

While in the process of adopting her son Maddox, the actress took time to mark the new changes in her life with a beautiful Buddhist prayer which states the following:
”May your enemies run far away from you. If you acquire riches, may they remain yours always. Your beauty will be that of Apsara. Wherever you may go, many will attend, serve and protect you, surrounding you on all sides.”

The tattoos that Angelina chose for the inside of her arms are some of the most interesting ones as they describe her core values and principles. On one of her arms she got the Arabic equivalent of determination, while on the other one is a quote from Tennessee Williams: "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages."

One of Angelina's most prominent tattoos, the Latin cross cleverly conceals another dragon tattoo she ended up regretting afterward. Right next to it the phrase "Quod me nutrit me destruit" meaning "What nourishes me, destroys me'' expresses her vision completes this true work of art.

Angelina's inner wrist tattoo is a runic inscription symbolizing the later ''H''. It is believed that the tattoo represents her beloved brother, James Haven even though there are voices that claim it was supposed to represent a former crush, Timothy Hutton.

It seems that while younger, Angelina had a true affinity for dragon tattoo symbols. Unfortunately, this tattoo was rather short lived as it was removed after the actress broke up with her second husband, Billy Bob Thornton.
